okay time to share one of the best spn gossip conspiracies
a few highlights from spn gossip after the full cockles panel:
NO ONE ESCAPES MISHAPOCALYPSE! Not even SPN_gossip!
warning: wank!
LOL “IT’S ALL PROGRAMMED”
THEY’RE “PROMOTING IT”
APRIL FOOL’S IS “OUR EXCUSE”
WE ARE ALL CONSPIRING HAHAHAHAHAHAH
IT’S ALL PART OF A BIGGER PLAN AHAHAHAHAAAHAHAH
I can’t stop laughing! :D The amount of stupid that is spn-gossip
I was just about to make a post about this. Too funny.
butterflydm replied to your post: I dont know why I keep going back to spn-gossip,…
its kinda fascinating. i only discovered it a few weeks ago and have been catching up. the whole thing makes me want to get a sociology degree just so that i can write a dissertation on that place.
Someone compiled all the tin-hattery since the start of the show in a timeline here: storify.com/speakthetruth/intro
I went down that rabbit hole. Or skimmed through it, anyways. Go ahead and read the intro. J2 is a romance for the ages and tale of injustice and repression, apparently.
I don’t know why I keep going back to spn-gossip, but I do. It’s such a deranged mirror-verse. The only place where tweeting a photo of steak is taken to be suggestive of a secret romance with one’s co-star, and a “gutsy” move.
Not to start wank by bringing stuff over from that toxic waste heap or anything, but I found this one comment so genuinely amusing I had to share it. I broke it down to bullet points. Original here.
And they are taking everything special from Sam and Dean -
- brother status,
- Samulet,
- special reunion hug,
- matching tattoos,
- hunting partners,
- being protective and needing each other,
- thr banter,
- expressing positive emotions towards the other on screen,
- sacrificing themselves for each other,
- unwillingness to move on without the other (leaving him behind)
- and giving it to the side character (with more intensity and feeling). Carver suxs.
So, things that the Winchesters aren’t supposed to do with other characters include hugging, sharing the fact that you can get these special tattoos to prevent demonic possession, protecting them, having banter, or presumably any kind of rapport, or even liking anyone else, apparently.
Really, expressing positive emotions towards the other on screen. I’m grinning because it’s so ridiculously funny.
If Sam and Dean aren’t total misanthropes who can only stand each other’s company, then the show is ruined.
lol
Ah yes, I remember that. And then they got mad at Jared because he was bringing in a “beard baby”. Because he’s in love with Jensen, and Daneel and Gen are all part of a ruse. Obviously.
Of course there would be an elaborate conspiracy to hide the sexuality of two cult TV actors on the USA’s smallest network TV station. It’s the only thing that makes sense.
It’s a livejournal community, where people mostly post on anon.
And yes, they’re entirely serious.
I read a comment thread one time where they were talking about Cockles shippers, and saying stuff like, “there’s no way Jensen and Misha are sleeping together.” And it was just like…

They think everyone engages in real-person-shipping the way they do, believing that there’s actually something going on.
They think that the CW and it’s publicists engage in a cover-up to hide Jared and Jensen’s sexuality. Just that they think the CW would bother to do that is beyond belief. But it’s to the extent that they think Thomas isn’t Jared’s biological kid.
And again, they’re serious about it. It sounds like a joke, but I’m not joking.
It’s like watching some kind of rare slug oozing it’s way across the forest floor - fascinating, but utterly disgusting.
It’s like watching a train wreck. You seriously cannot look away. Sometimes their seriousness can be great for a good laugh but most times it makes me want to set myself on fire.
It’s morbidly fascinating. It’s a little fun to read their complaints about the show itself, in a vindicated, pointing-and-laughing kind of way.
But sometimes they call other fans “delusional” and… good lord, the irony.
omg the things that they all just take as given facts, and speculate about in all seriousness… it has no basis in reality whatsoever.
