think of all the idle touches that must happen between Dean and Cas in purgatory because they are the only good thing to each other there. think of all the clasps of the shoulders and the brushes of arms and the “accidental” grazes of hands against each other. think of all the moments in the night when Dean slept too close but not close enough, when he curled an arm around Cas’ thigh as the angel sat up and kept watch and blamed it on a fitful sleep later. all the moments when Castiel let Dean make excuses if it meant they could touch again. and think of the moment when Dean stopped making excuses
and held his hand, instead of grazed it.
