the fact that that tweet says that Cas/Misha is in eight episodes “with an option for more” - idk maybe it’s just my eternal optimism toward spoilers, but it makes me think they don’t have the full season planned out in its specific entirety, like they know what’s gonna happen at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end, but they’re not sure how they’re gonna get there in every individual episode, but they have a bunch of it planned and he’s gonna be in it a good amount and then probably a bunch in the stuff they don’t have so specifically planned out either

That’s what I think too.
I don’t know how accurate this actually is, but I’ve gotten the impression that TV shows in general leave the stuff that happens after the mid-season break more up-in-the-air, so they can evaluate where the show’s at and how the story’s going and if they need to make any changes.
