God chose you to save us. And I think deep down, you know that.

I’m trying my hand at making a fanvid. (I’m already a quarter through the song! It’s “Best of You” by the Foo Fighters, and it’s Cas-centric). So I’m going through clips of episodes. And man. Man. The way Crowley plays Cas…

It makes me smile, really it does. Because he’s such a slimy bastard, but he sounds so sincere when he says those things to Cas. “God chose you to save us.” US he says. As if he gives a crap about God.

And Cas falls for it. And I love Castiel so. much. because he falls for it. … I’m not entirely sure how that works or why I feel that way, but I do. The moment Cas bought into Crowley’s “God chose you” line, my love for him tripled. … I guess because it made him so, so human and weak and flawed, but he’s an angel, and it’s beautiful. And I wonder if he had ever been tempted like that before in his life? 

In some ways Castiel really is like a child. He’s too naive about some things. He just wanted Anna to tell him what to do. And then, after the apocalypse, he was so idealistic. And so easy for Crowley to flatter and manipulate. And then when he absorbs the souls, he really is like a kid on a power trip. But he’s devious and dangerous at the same time. And I love that about him. 

I love everything about Castiel, and everything he chooses to be, especially the shitty choices.
